On this TLC/Arts Council tour publishers and editors from both large and small presses, and literary agents will debate what is going on in the literary marketplace today. Is the publishing industry as London-centric as some perceive it to be? Is the kind of work getting published increasingly predictable? Are small presses making a comeback? Do book distribution networks and bookshops have too much power? How difficult is it for first time writers to get through?

Events will also include author readings and other stimulating debate. Members of TLC staff will be available for questions throughout the day.

TLC is grateful to Arts Council England for this opportunity to take discussions about which they feel passionate to a wider audience. We hope that writers everywhere – both beginners and experienced – will come and join us. Come and have your say.

TLC has already visited Cumbria, Dorset, and Derby – please see below for listings of past participants.
